The Lady Nelson was the first decked ship to enter Western Port at the beginning of 1801, captained by Lt James Grant, who named Churchill Island after a man in Dawlish, Devon who gave him a quantity of a variety of seeds, including wheat, which he sowed on CI. Lady Nelson returned at the end of the year under the command of Murray, who reported that most of the seeds had grown. He harvested the wheat to feed to the swans they had on board for fresh meat. a. Book with a mottled blue-grey cover with brown leather spine and extends 5.5 cm to front and back. Corner edges also had the leather, two are missing and the other two are dilapidated. A red stuck on tape near the top of the spine had Ledger printed with some gold edging, most of which is worn off. Inside the front and back covers is a red, blue and white marble pattern. Front and back covers have been reinforced with white tape. 542 page Ledger Book for a general produce merchant. Probably Albert Bush. Alphabetical index at front. Entries in black ink on all pages and date from 1888 to 1920. Loose 4 page foolscap inside front cover listing Rolling Stock and Value. b. A pocket in the back of the book contains 6 pieces of paper relating to business and finance. Items include Discounts and Commission from 1888 to 1899, a note on insurance, a note dated June 2/90 headed Mr A Bush Sandhurst Dr to S A Bush & Co listing monthly amounts of money from Jan 1890 and 1889. Some amounts are with the name G P Reddie.Another one is a Building A/C dated 1889. Another is a balance sheet written on a page with another one written on the back and dated 1893. One written on paper headed Bush's Stores, Main Street, Bairnsdale and printed S.A.Bush & Co. It looks like a list of repayments listed in 8 bills. The other side of the page refers to Bill of Sales for Yeates & Baker and Bill of Sales held by the Bank of New South Wales. There is also a copy of two letters addressed to A Bush, one dated Oct 17.06 from H Hopkins referring to the late Mr Baker's property in Sale. Developed by Dr Jack Lippes in 1962, the Lippes Loop was commonly used as a contraceptive device from the 1960s to the 1980s. Due to its low cost and the ease of inserting and removing the device, it quickly became the most popular IUD in the world during its time. This is one of a collection of items received from the practice of Dr Lachlan Hardy-Wilson, FRCOG, Launceston, Tasmania.Two sealed Lippes Loop IUDs, Size C. IUD and inserter are sealed inside a sterile plastic pocket. Manufacturer information is printed on a cardboard insert which holds each IUD inside the pocket. The packaging of the first Lippes Loop is printed with an expiry date of Jan 83 on the back. The packaging of the second Lippes Loop is printed with instructions for use on the back.l intrauterine device

Jack Dunkin Lutge was born 9/11/21 to John & Millicent Lutge of Elmhurt, Vic. At the age of 13 he joined the church Preaching Band as organist. He was encouraged to consider a call to the ministry of the Methodist Church, and he was ordained in 1950. Parishes were Beaconsfield (Tas.), Deloraine (Tas.), Woomelang, Ballarat, Euroa, Noble Park, Sandringham, West Brunswick. He married Marjorie Shepherd 17/5/1947, and they had a daughter, Meredith. He died in Myrtleford on 31/5/2014.Lutget is standing in ecumenical alb and blue stole c. 1982 at Noble Park where he was acting as relieving minister.
