This is likely High Street, St Kilda at the commencement of road-widening works in the early 1970s. These works were to widen the narrow High Street between the wider Brighton Road and the newly rebuilt St Kilda Junction. Properties on the northeast edge of High Street remained. Promotion by PTV of upgrade to unsafe terminus on a busy road. It followed similar upgrades to a number of other termini and preceded the combining of routes 8 and 55 into route 58 in 2017.
