Glass and metal vein seeker syringe with a 10cc total volume. The barrel and plunger are manufactured from glass; the needle point from metal. The barrel is connected to the plunger via a metallic clip and chain and intravenous drip is added to the syringe via a side tube that is blocked with a corc stopper.Etched on syringe barrel in brown lettering: "B-D Yale Kaufman' and '5942Y'. Ephemera - Ticket/s, State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV), SEC 5d, 1955 - 1965?
Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented.Block with two remaining tickets - green ink on off white paper, denomination 5d, numbered V504598 - 99, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways. Originally a block of 200 tickets been stapled onto an off white, partially ruled cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a off white coloured cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. The ticket price is in green ink while the ticket number itself is in black ink. On rear in green ink is a diagonal criss cross or tartan pattern. See also Reg Item 3991 for a similar ticket. 115 Jasper Road, Bentleigh East was a market garden owned by James Allan. In 1880 the property was transferred to David Grewar (Gruar) who had married James' niece Mary Allan. In 1926 part of the land was subdivided and sold as residential blocks. The block with the house pictured remained in the family until 1969. The land now forms part of Our Lady of Sacred Heart College.
