Milk and cream were stored in steel cans for transportation to stores or local dairy companies.The dairy industry is and ha been one of the major industries in the Kiewa Valley. This cream can belonged to the Creamer family who owned and operated a dairy farm in the Kiewa Valley.Straight sided steel can with movable ring handles at the top on each side.The lid is slightly curved with a hinge on one side and securing clasp on its opposite side with a moveable ring handle attached (to the securing clasp).A plaque is attached on the top with an inscription. Photo of SEC Ballarat No. 14 and possibly No. 42 (Briquette roof advertisement and features on the same special trams in Reg. item 2064) waiting in Lydiard St. North for the arrival of the ARHS special on Saturday 21/8/1971 to undertake the last tour of Ballarat Tramways, prior to the closure of the system. The first line closure (Victoria St.) took place the following day. Has Reid's Coffee Palace building in the background and other buildings on the east side of Lydiard St. North. Gillies Pies was started by three brothers from Charlton, in central Victoria, Les, Alan and Norm Gillies who left their farm after the 1940s drought and headed to Bendigo to start anew. From their first small bakery in Mitchell Street, the brothers eventually went on to employ about 200 people with wholesale and retail locations spreading across the state and distribution including Melbourne.A double-sided sign, both sides are identical. This store in Main Street Bacchus Marsh was first opened by James Young in November 1866. In October 1869 it was purchased by William Anderson and was operated by members of the Anderson family until 1971. The site of the store was on the southern side of Main Street on the eastern side of Eddie Toole Park. On the opposite side of the street was the site of the former Post Office on the northern side of Main Street. The store was first named the Border Mills Store during James Young's ownership and was later known as the Border Store (Anderson & Co.).Small black and white photograph showing Anderson’s store. Small cardboard packet containing 10 glass Ampoules of Ammonia Inhalant Solution (Aromatic). These were for field use and intended to be used as 'smelling salts'. These were carried by a RAN rating during the Vietnam conflict. The original postcards in this series (2013.002 to 2013.018) were generously loaned to Williamstown Botanic Gardens by a private collector for copying. The postcards are evidence of the interest the gardens held as a subject for postcard publishers. The text and images provide a snapshot into fashions, social interests and concerns of the time. The professionally produced images provide a pictorial history of Gardens including changing planting styles, various structures and features of the Gardens eg the aviary, cannons, the fountain, the second Curator’s Lodge and gates. The images offer an opportunity to compare garden vistas with the present day. This postcard is evidence of the location of one of the cannons relocated from Fort Gellibrand in 1906. They were removed from the Gardens in the 1960s. These same cannons remain a feature on the Williamstown waterfront in 2013. A sepia postcard depicting a winding path lined with rocks. The Warrnambool Chamber of Commerce has been operating at various times in the 20th century and was formed by the local businesses to promote Warrnambool as a city for business initiatives, tourism and economic development. These tickets are of some interest as an example of the activities of the Warrnambool Chamber of Commerce in the mid 20th century. These are two identical tickets, with black printing on a green background on one side and blank on the other side.
