Part of Vickers machine gun ammunition belt of 250 rounds, stripless type that was factory filled & meant to be discarded on use.The vickers machine gun was in general use by British & Commonwealth forces during WW2 & Korea.Fabric belt for Vickers machine gun, manuafactured by Thomas French & Sons Ltd in September 1938, mark 3 "stripless". The shape of bottles changed as did the stoppers used to seal them.Historical: Change of bottles - shape, glass, stopper, embossing, use. Aesthetic: Display showing embossing and shape especially if in good conditionClear brown glass bottle with base consisting of 2 long sides (front and back) and 2 shorter sides at each end joined by two even shorter sides (as if to cut corners). Travis Webber was born in South Australia in 1900. He died in 1968. He studied at the South Australian School of Arts where he went on to teach. Webber established himself as one of the Australia's most prolific landscape artists. His work is held in several large galleries.Bluestone building with a shingle roof. It was made by Herbert (Bert) Lingard for his wife Sybil for whom he made nearly all of her dresses and coats..|Herbert, William Lingard was a tailor whose business 'Lingard Modes' operated in the Manchester Unity Building, Swanston Street, Melbourne, C1949. Later he worked from his home in 476 St Kilda Road Melbourne.|NP2453 shows Bert at his sewing machine.A mink fur coat, calf length, straight cut with two metal hooks and eyes. Padding in shoulders extend into the wide sleeves with turned up cuffs. The collar either mandarin styled turned up or turned back reveres. The Station building was located on the west side of the tracks, near the corner of Heathmont and Canterbury Roads. At the officially opening, the ribbon was cut by Louise Pump, wife of Herman. -
