This foot powder tin may have been manufactured for use by troops in Vietnam, if the inscription "P.D. 5/69" might refer to it's manufacture in May 1969. Khaki coloured rectangular tin constructed of a rectangular base with rounded edges, attached to one long rectangular section bent into sides, another rectangular piece with rounded edges forms the top. In top of tin, a screw on lid with seven punched holes allows the contents to be shaken out of the tin. Content residue still visible on lid but appears that the tin is otherwise empty. This duffel bag was used during the Vietnam war by National Serviceman Private Wayne Edward Maschette, Army number: 5716538, who served in 8RAR, 1969-70, Long green canvas bag with a large white painted label. Ruby Forge (April 15th 1881-April 2nd 1969) was the sister of James Leslie Forge. She donated the fund for one of the memorial stained glass window to her brother after his passing in 1917. Ruby was engaged to a young man who was sent to the front during WWI. Unfortunately he died over there, and she never married. She passed away in April 1969. Miss Olive Codling was a Foundation Member and a Life Member of the Wodonga Historical Society. Many of her prize-winning photos are held in the Society Collection. She also held a range of roles and committee positions in a wide range of Wodonga community organisations. These included the Horticultural Society, the Wodonga Arts Council, the Wodonga Camera Club and the Wodonga Lapidary Club. These photographs relate to the East Gippsland Railway. The Bairnsdale-Orbost railway was opened in 1916 to serve the agricultural and timber industry. Because of the decline in traffic and heavy operating costs, the line was finally closed in August, 1987. Orbost Railway Station was opened on Monday 10 April 1916 as the terminus of the Orbost railway line, and closed in 1987. The station was located on the west side of the Snowy River despite the town of Orbost being on the east side of the river, in order to save on the costs of a bridge over the river, which at the time had highly variable levels.
