Has an ESCo tram southbound in Lydiard St North, a motor car and several horse-drawn vehicles. Shows the verandahs along Lydiard St, centre poles, and looks towards a rather desolate Black Hill following extensive mining works. The Post Office time ball is in the down position. Possibly c1910. Demonstrates an important era of the Ballarat Tramways through the SEC preparing an album of photographs. Demonstrates an aspect of tram operations and yields information about the accidents that some trams suffered and how this was presented following the reconstruction era by the SEC of the Ballarat Tramway system.Set of eight black and white prints of accidents to trams 16 and 14, mounted onto a grey light cardboard sheet. Each photo about 65 x 90. Marked as "Series D4" in ink. Produced by the SEC c1939/40 having the accident of 14. The tramcar body card shows it was repaired following an accident June 1939.
