The Fashion & Design collection of the Kew Historical Society includes examples of women’s, men’s, children’s and infants’ clothing from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Items in the collection were largely produced for, or purchased by women in Melbourne, and includes examples of outerwear, protective wear, nightwear, underwear and costume accessories. This wedding dress was worn by Marjorie Don who married Algernon Garlick, 1928Cream coloured crepe-de-chine wedding dress with a dropped waist comprised of a wide band of ribbon. The bodice is gathered at the top in narrow bands. Rows of pearl buttons extend to the waist from the neckline. The photograph shows the interior of either VR tram 52, 53 or 54. The note on the rear of the photograph referencing tram 41 is incorrect. This photograph was taken from one end of the drop-centre looking through drop-centre to the other saloon. In the foreground the tops of the timber traverse seating can be seen along with the lined ceiling, curved light shades, strap handles for standing passengers and open sliding doors. In the saloon longitudinal upholstered seating can be seen that was a feature of these cars between 1946 and 1959. Stamp four: wooden handle, metal casing containing the operating system for a rotating belt of numbers which can be changed to record the current date.The rotating date mechanism on this stamp appears to have dropped out of its correct position within the casing, as the numbers are slightly off set and out of place. There is a rubberised stamp surface, with wording that reads 'RECEIVED. WINLATON". A window for a date appears in the centre between the two words.

Legacy is an Australian organisation which was founded in 1923 to assist the widows of servicemen who had not returned from active service in World War One. It now assists widows, widowers and their children whose parent died whilst serving during any conflict or subsequently.
