Certificate awarded to Mr. Charles Wilson Peel for the best sample of merino lambs wool at the annual show for the Geelong Agricultural and Pastoral Society. The certificate is undated. Mr Peel owned a superfine merino stud at Gnawarre named CallenondahRed coloured stiff paper certificate with black printed text and sketches. Black ink handwritten personalised text to C.W. Peel for best lambs wool sample. Heading at top of certificate above the Australian coat of arms and sketch of horse and cow heads. -

Dress, Wedding dress, 1964
This wedding dress belonged to Rayleen Haig OAM, nee Janetzki, who married Donald Haig in Geelong on 15 August 1964. The dress was designed for Rayleen and made by Deon's of Melbourne, which specialised in wedding gowns (she believes it was above Sportsgirl in Collins Street). It cost about one hundred pounds. The reception was held in the Carlton Hotel, Geelong. A longtime local resident, Rayleen was a Brighton councillor (1983-92) and mayor (1989-90). She was awarded the OAM in 2007 for "service to local government and to the community through health, historical and aged care organisations, particularly within the City of Bayside, and to the National Council of Women of Australia".Cream silk dress with boat neck, short sleeves and back zip. Archive - Note Book, 1939-1944
The book was used by Peter Evans (born 1927) to record notes during classes in the Wool Classing course at Gordon Institute, 1939-1944. Mr Evans was from Hamilton, Victoria, where he continued the family business of wool and sheepskin trading. The book was a gift to Dr Grahame Abbott from the inherited estate of Peter Evans in consideration of his experience in the wool industry over 35 years at the CSIRO Wool Laboratories at Belmont.A bound cash book with a cardboard cover and maroon cotton binding. Has a paper label with a blue inscription in the centre of the front cover. Pages lined and ruled in columns. Textile - Quilt, Child's Cot Cover Insert, Mrs Bertha Emily Nitschke, 1929
This cot cover insert was made during the 1929 depression an a time of financial hardship. It was made by Jean Hepner's Grandmother from used woollen garments. They were hand stitched on to an old woollen blanket. The quilt was used by at least five of the seven children born in to this family and also by grandchildren in later years. It was used with assorted covers which were replaced when needed.Child's cot cover insert (wagga) made from discarded woollen garments such as socks, stockings and vests and stitched in multiple layers on to a woollen blanket. A collection of original documents used by and written about the Kanematuse Organization, a wool business based in SydneyOne large bound book entitled 'F. Kanematsu & Co. Ltd. Private Code For Wool'. Warrnambool Legacy Club was founded in 1947; prior to that it was part of Geelong Legacy Club. It covers an area in South West Victoria bounded by Port Fairy in the west, Mortlake, Derrinallum and Lismore to the north, and Camperdown, Timboon and Port Campbell in the south and east. The Warrnambool Legacy Club has contributed to the welfare of widows and children of past soldiers. In turn it has relied upon the generosity of local organisations and people to maintain their work.
