Accessory - MAGGIE BARBER COLLECTION: LADIES WALKING CANE, 1920's
Object. Finely tapered wooden cane- .7 cm diameter at base and .9 cm at base of metal handle. The rounded top, forming a handle is metal and while some numbers are visible,I do not think that there is a hallmark to indicate silver No 935 and some indistinguishable letters. The metal extends around the handle and 10.5 cm down the cane. A 2.5 cm wide ''bracelet'' of a different metal encircles the cane, over the top of the darker metal. The cane has a covering of black paint, which is showing wear and tear. The cane has a 2.7 cm metal tip-possibly brass. Shows the services and how the various run or crew tables were arranged in relation to the overall timetable. Missing Sebastopol sheets and all sheets for weekends at as 7/2006.Photo copy of a handwritten sheet on graph paper for the arrangement of the Weekdays Rosters on Mt Pleasant - Gardens and, Victoria St - Gardens routes. Gives the various run numbers, sign on location, trip take times, notes on what to do with trams, sign off times, interface with other runs. Extract Hansard, Legislative Council, 2/10/1968, titled "Ballarat and Bendigo Tramways - Proposed Abandonment". Sir Percy Byrnes moved that the proposed abandonment by the SEC be not made. Pages 471 to 494 reports on the speach by Sir Percy, I.A. Swinburne who seconded the motion, V.O. Dickie who opposed the motion for the Government. Others who spoke were , F. J. Granter, F.S. Grimwade, J.M. Tripovich. The Motion was supported by the Country and Labor parties who had the numbers in the upper house. The document is a transcript of a memo prepared by the Ballarat Tramways Branch Superintendent dated 7 May 1948. Written by A. V. Mawby. The document examines the running condition of the Ballarat Tramway system, including the rolling stock, buildings, permanent way, overhead equipment, passenger numbers. Label and seal, June 1929
A cardboard label with attached wire, including a small metal circular piece with "LONDON" stamped into it. The label contains black and red text as well as stamped numbers. The front of the label has the Henley trade mark, "Henley C.M.A. Regd Cable", and description of the cable (length 100 yards, size, 600 megohm Grade Classification G), with the obverse describing the manufacturer details and branches. The label is in poor condition, and has been ripped in various places, with some text sections faded/erased. A ripped portion of the label reads, in red, "Please see that this label and seal are intact". The date of manufacture is stamped on the label: JUN 1929. -

Used for passengers who travelled by tram or bus on railway issued tickets. Has the terms of use printed on the tickets, only available on Sundays. Issued by the MMTB. The only line that these were used on was Route 19, for the Upfield line. Used as proof of payment from AT&MOEA of members union dues. Shows the method of collecting union dues or membership fees by the Union.History of a tram employee's transactions with a public transport union of whom they are/were a member. Said public transport union has been superceded by the RTBU since 1993.Three (3) blue receipts (numbers 1752-1754, consecutive) with the phone number and address of the Victoria Branch of the AT&MOEA. All are from 1981, with handwriting indicating a signed date of 7 October of that year. Receipts are originally intended for quarterly tickets, but receipts 1752 and 1753 have handwriting indicating their actual use: "Joining Fee" and "arrears" respectively. Said 2 receipts also have the quarterly ticket price crossed out with actual amounts of their corresponding intended transactions annotated (both are A$1). Receipt 1754 is for a quarterly ticket.
