Yields information the model tram used during the second world war and some of the people involved in fund raising in BallaratReproduction of c1944 photograph of Ballarat's Most Popular Conductress Competition to raise funds for the Red Cross Prisoner of War fund. Photo features a model tram, No. 41, known as the Treasure Tram with a group of boys and men group at the rear of the tram. Boys are dressed in army or sailors uniforms. Men dressed in army uniform and one SEC conductor with conductors bag around shoulder. From original of another reproduction believed to be held by the Ballarat Historical Society. Incorrectly labelled as being taken during 1946. See other reference for details of the Treasure Tram. Conductor believed to be Robert Morrison. Identified by Doreen Brown, 307 Simpson St. Buniyong as her father - 53 412 125, during the exhibition. Yields information about the seven window horse tram and passengers and streetscape in the gardens at the time. Only known photograph of this type of tramcar.Stereo pair of photos, black and white, of a 7 window horse tram in Wendouree Parade, possibly near Windmill Drive, Nth end, mounted on heavy card. Photographed and published by Geo Rose. Has many lady passengers on the top deck of the tramcar. Tram has the destination of "Boatsheds". Possibly around 1900. Only known photo as at 2/96 of these seven 7 window horse tram in Ballarat. For a print of one of these photos - see Reg. Item 258. Yields information about the crews on the last official tram in Ballarat at the time of the closure of the Ballarat System and some of the last tickets sold on the system.Nine No. 8c SECV tickets on block (Nos. A552391 to 99), purchased at time by Albert Isaacs - white paper, green ink with "Electricity makes life easier!" on rear, stapled to heavy cardboard with stubs of previously issued tickets remaining. Signed on both sides. Alan Bradley - advised 2/1996 Herb Knight - driver and Lew Walker - Conductor as crew on "Last Tram" No. 40 ex Sebastopol (official records). Albert Issacs of view that Des Domaschenz was the driver of the last tram. Images of item added 19/10/2013. Black and white photos, map, covers, brief history of Adelaide's transport and some Museum exhibits 264.2 - within book - Letter from Garry Ord to N.Gower dated 7 august 1967 on Australian Broadcasting letterhead, Queensland branch, noting replacement of trolley buses in Adelaide and returning booklet. 264.3 - newspaper cutting within booklet, dated 22/11/1968, noting 10th anniversary of closure of Adelaide street trams and referring to an "in Memorial" notice. Demonstrates the last timetable issued for Ballarat Tramways and yields information about tram services.285 - Three page photo copy of the final timetable for tram services in Ballarat for the SECV issued March 1970. Page 1 - Sunday, p2 - Saturday, p3 - weekdays. Gives IN and OUT times for each route and notes if from depot etc. Understood to be SECV photocopy. 285.1 - ditto, but actual wax stencil copy on duplicating paper used by Driver / Conductor J. Everett. Has been folded into 8. This copy used in image files. Item added 2/2/2003. 285.2 - ditto - three copies of SECV copies given to the BTPS at the time of closure. Produced by the North Sydney Boys High School Railway club, prior to the closure of the Ballarat system - little else written and published at the time about the history and details of the system. A very good booklet for the time - produced entirely by the wax cut stencil process. Has a strong association with the people who prepared the document.Twenty page booklet on the history, operation and tramcars of Ballarat, produced by the Nth Sydney Boys High School Railway Club in July 1971. Printed on a wax cut stencil process, with green covers, drawings, maps, track layout, fleet list, gives tentative closure dates, route descriptions, sketches, stapled on edge. Title "The Ballarat Tram". Stapled on the left hand side.
