A damaged small brown Invicta Australian 1955 Business Diary No.41 with two days on a page. The front cover lists the brand, and detail already mentioned, with 1955 Business Diary No.41 crossed out and 1965 Petter Fielding LOG book written over them in blue biro. The printer and publisher is printed at the bottom. There is tan cloth tape holding the covers together on the left. Inside it has the calendar for 1955, postal, money order and telegraph Information along with other miscellaneous information. It was used as a Log Book for a Petter Fielding engine which was manufactured in 1952. The entries start 21/7/65 and finish Sun 2/3/2008. On the page Monday 4 July 1955 there is an entry dated Mon6/7/59 with little or no information apart from a few names and costs.There is a Cash Account section at the back.non-fictionOn the front cover, 1955 Business Diary No.41 is crossed out and 1965 Petter Fielding Log Book is written over them in blue biro. Requires more research. The flag appears to be a commemorative listing of British seafarers of World War 2 noting those who served, but this needs confirmation and an improved image. The flag was removed from permanent display in the Flying Angels Club as it requires assessment for cleaning of a build up of dust and smoke. See also existing condition report a new inspection needs to be carried out.If simply a listing of British merchant seamen visiting the Missions in the 2nd half of the 20th Century it is also notable in the history of the MTSV at 717 Flinders st.If confirmed as a WW2 memorial it is also significant. Historical: This book covers all aspects of the C.W.A. including its history. The Tawonga branch of the C.W.A. commenced on the 7th Feb. 1946 and often combined activities with the other branches in the Kiewa Valley. The C.W.A. aimed to improve health, welfare and education for women and children in the country .Women living in Tawonga were mostly on farms and, in 1946, when the branch commenced, would have been feeling more remote with WW11 having had an effect on available workers and the well being of the women and children.Small 17 page book with white cardboard cover and green writing. Pedro J. Lemos was an educator and artist. He was also the editor of the School of Arts Magazine and Director of Stanford University Museum of Fine Arts. He was born in 1882 and died in 1954. This art portfolio contains ten periods of art history: Egyptian, Assyrian, Grecian, Roman, Byzantine, Romanesque, Saracenic, Gothic, Renaissance and Georgian. This photo was used in a newsletter, the Bulletin, in 1972 which includes the caption 'The President of Melbourne Legacy, Legatee Ron. Foskett, joins some of the Junior Legatees at the "Harelands" Legacy Residence at Kew for dinner. Melbourne Legacy ran three residences: Blamey House (purchased 1947) , Stanhope (purchased 1945) and Harelands (purchased 1950), to take care of children whose fathers were servicemen, and who may have been left orphans, or whose mother may have been unable to care for them herself. Harelands accomodated boys and girls under the age of 14, Blamey House looked after boys over 14, and Stanhope looked after girls over 14.
