Ephemera - Ticket/s, State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV), Block of 41 No. 3d Parcel check tickets, 1950's
... Trams ...Block of 41 No. 3d Parcel check tickets. Was originally a block of 50 two part printed tickets, using red ink on 60 gsm gold paper with the top half part having a part gummed back, stapled with a single staple at the top onto a brown cardboard sheet. The ticket butt has the form number "TYE 2-9". The top portion was to be affixed to the parcel to be carried. It has the name of the organisations (SECV), "Parcel Check 3d", conditions of carriage and ticket number, prefixed with the letter Ba. The first nine tickets have been removed or used. The lower portion was retained by the sender, was to be initialled by the conductor, "Parcel Check 3d", conditions of use, ticket number and a space where to be initialled by the conductor. Lower portions not on block are 8659 to 8564, though 8561 present loose. Tickets in full book numbered on both portions from Ba008650 to Ba008699. Each ticket has been stamped "CANCELLED" Inside of cardboard back has number "8699" written in ink on back.trams, tramways, secv, tickets, parcels -

On far right of photograph, is H.P.James, with words "dad" written in ink at his feet. Photo mounted onto card with black paper, photograph has rounded corners, card is depressed to receive photograph and then a rectangular depression around the photograph again. Appears to be on a tour special with passengers in the tramcar. Has the Golden City Hotel in the background. Photo taken early 1960's. Tramcar has an SEC "Use Electricity for Cooking" roof advertisement and an Age newspaper advertisement on back dash panel. Note the lining of No. 18, using the wide gold lining. The slide appears to be a copy slide, given the nature of the colour and the additional number WP413. Photographer could be Bill Pearce (WP). Slide rescanned at 3200 dpi 25-10-2020, jpg replaced, tiff file retained. Shown in a tabular form are the timetables for each of the Ballarat and Bendigo routes in the 1960's, for Mondays to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Gives the run number, times at various points, special workings, terminals, short workings. The tables for Sundays in Bendigo has been prepared but not filled in. In the blue section has various notes on Ballarat weekday runs, timetables. Badge - Union badge, APFX, late 1930's?
... trams ...Has a strong association with John Prisk, ESCo tram driver of the 1910's and demonstrates the importance of being a union member at the time and the badge provided by the unionAustralian Tramway Employees Association (Tramways Union) badge. Badge made on a brass or metal backing with a gold (9ct) plating with words "Australian Tramway Employees Association" on outer edge of badge with a royal blue enamel background. In centre of badge has the Australian coat of arms with a railway type spoke wheel above the logo and underneath the coat of arms the words "Federated Australia" in a banner. Has a steel ring through a hole in the top of the badge. On back of badge has stamped into the badge "John Prisk / Member / Since 1912". Colour - Arch of The Avenue of Honor, Ballarat from Black Hill showing gold workings, Eureka Stockade, The Begonia Conservatory Botanic Gardens, Sturt St between Grenville St and Lydiard St, the floral clock with the Town Hall in the background, The Ballarat Hospital and Autumn in the Botanic Gardens. Has a title "City of Ballarat", with a folder tab at the top.
