Jane Craine, née Shimmins, migrated to Victoria with her husband William Craine in 1862/63. Jane's and William's seven children were all born in Linton. After her husband's death in 1908, Jane and her daughter Lottie ran a small confectionery shop at what is now 81 Sussex Street.Enlarged black and white copy of original photograph. “Warranooke” Homestead built 1867 enlarged 1926. Shows extensive gardens at front. A very early property in our district Warranooke The main names associated with the property Ayrey - Darnell - Nicoll, later Campbell. Mrs. Campbell built Charles Ayrey's daughter. The Campbells built up the station buildings. The homestead was virtually rebuilt in brick, making it one of the largest and most elaborate in the East Wimmera. Warranooke homestead built 1867, enlarged 1926 destroyed by fire 13th Feb. 1979. Black and white fish eye photograph of a large brick cement rendered two story home. Home with a tiled hip roof. Frances Dorothea Mary Port, born in England in 1890, married Dr James Blair Donaldson (the younger) in 1916 in England, where he was serving with the British armed forces during World War I. At the end of the war, she came to Australia. The Donaldsons lived at Linton with their two sons, Frank (born in England in 1917) and George (born 1920), before they moved to Skipton in 1926.Enlarged black and white copy of original photograph which has been mounted on card. Saint Joseph’s Convent Patrick Street once the family home of the Kinsella family. The house was built in 1900 by architect M. Ryan and building contractor A. J. Barnes for Thomas Kinsella who occupied the home till he died in 1902.
