The Dick Reynolds Club is a coterie group for the Essendon Football Club. Cards were sent by John Coleman in response to letters of support received after he injured his knee in 1954. He never played again. Thank you card on cream cardboard with rounded corners and message in calligraphy script printed in blue ink; message reads: "Sincere thanks for your kind expressions of Sympathy and Good-will during my recent football injury. I can asssure you it is deeply appreciated. John Coleman." Handwritten message in blue ink on back of card reads: "Thanks, Ray, for your very nice letter. Clothing. Cream silk infant's christening coat. Fold down collar on round neckline with squared corners. Collar has four X 5 cm slits - one on either side of the shoulder. Collar has embroidered edges and floral embroidery on each section(5). Yoke at front and back. Skirt sections front and back have 7 cm smocked section where attached to the yoke. Edge of each yoke has decorative embroidered leaves that continue along both edges of front opening and around the hemline. Lower sections of the front skirt have embroidered floral patterns. Long sleeves are gathered at shoulders with 4 cm section of smocking 2 cm at the wrist with 2 cm gathered edge at hem. Front opening is fastened at throat with metal hook and cotton loop, and three X one cm pearl look buttons beside the smocked section. Two silk fabric ties (68 cm X 14 cm) are gathered and attached below the collar an each side front opening. Unlined. Clothing. Infant's coffee coloured crocheted lace bonnet. Concentric circles of lace from centre back. Edged on both sides with scalloped lace. Fully lined with coffee coloured net. Two rows of .8 cm blue satin ribbon and two rows of .8 cm pink satin ribbon threaded from side to side. Four pink rosebuds across front edge of bonnet. Clothing. Woman's black waist length long sleeved silk blouse. Wide scooped neckline with fold over collar (10 cm) with rounded corners. Kimono cut sleeves with geometric pattern of black beading at wrist (5 cm wide). Front of bodice has crossover section with fastening across left shoulder. Front section has 30 cm panel of black beading geometric pattern. Waist is gathered by a cotton tape casing 2.5 cm above the hem. The front opening is on the LHS from shoulder to waist with eight metal hooks and cotton loops. Opening across the left shoulder is fastened with four hooks and loops and one press-stud. Back of bodice has matching panel (30cm wide) with a black beading geometric pattern. Garment is unlined. Beading patterns use 1mm black beads.costume, female, woman's black silk blouse.

Artwork. A square of silk fabric, finished on the four sides with a .8 cm fringe of the fabric. A border of blue stitchery 2 cm from inside the fringe surrounds a floral design of three variegated pink flowers, one variegated blue flower, and soft green leaves. In one corner is a butterfly with soft pink wings, dark body, and long antennae. Burgandy satin stitch buds, and centres in two of the flowers add depth.artwork, doyley

Photographic postcard with a sepia photograph of Albert Park Lake adhered to a backing card. Photograph has been placed slightly off centre and has a border varying from 1.5cm to 2.5cm. The photograph depicts a small yacht sailing on the lake with four men onboard with their backs to camera. In the background, the opposite shore can be seen with trees and a white railing fence. The words Albert Park Lake are printed across the bottom edge of the photograph. A laminated cover has been placed across the photo and backing card. On the reverse is writing and it is addressed to Mrs Dean Golden Square. A one penny stamp has been affixed to the top right hand corner and extended partly onto the front of the card.postcard

Document. Two copies of ''An Ode'' typed on flimsy paper. Each copy has three pages. The Ode has eleven six line verses of three rhyming couplets. First verse begins; ''Farewell Sweet Lolanthe till once again we meet. Farewell old growling walker, farewell dear corner seat''. At the end is ''An Afterthought'' of four verses. Clothing. Pointed lapel collar, with underside of collar lined with felt. Two brass metal badges in a Leidertafel style - one on each side of collar. Cloth circular badges at the top of each sleeve are embroidered with a coat-of-arms, below which are two shields, one blue, and embroidered with a bunch of grapes, one red embroidered with a sheaf of wheat, a sheep, and perhaps a symbol of the landscape. Two breast pockets, rectangular with rounded lower corners and a shield shaped flap, closed with a 2 cm brass button impressed with a laurel wreath, and horn, suspended by a cord, and triple loop-a replica of British Light Infantry buttons. Two lower ''pockets'' are flaps only, giving the impression of a pocket only. Jacket lined with blue taffeta-like fabric-possibly polyester. One internal bound pocket inside right front. Private James Edward Matthews (3174) was one of four first cousins living in the Myrtleford district killed during World War 1. He was in the 60th Battalion, A.I.F. action at Fromelles, France, and was killed in action, aged 19 years, on July 19,1916. He was the son of Richard and James Matthews of Myrtleford and has no known grave, but is "Remembered with Honour" at V.C. Corner, Australian Cemetery and Memorial, Fromelles. James attended Myrtleford State School 955; his death is recorded on honour boards at the Uniting (formerly Methodist) Church, the school honour board and at the Soldier's memoral Square. A memorial window at the church includes names of the four cousins.The portrait reminds viewers of the youth of many A.I.F. volunteers, the outcome of actions such as that at Fromelles in 1916 and the impact on families in small communities. It also relates to the ongoing search for identifiable remains of those personnel without a known resting place.
