Bendigo Advertiser ''The way we were'' from 2000. Musical: the house of music in Rowan Street Bendigo. It is said the opera singer Amy Castles commissioned this house for her old singing teacher Edward Allen Bindley in 1902. In the centre of the house was a music room with a folding partition at one end. Behind the partition was a passage way with a mural which provided a backdrop for stage rehearsals.
