Two copies of a black and white photo of the Hopetoun Brass Band of 1918. Bandsmen are wearing uniforms and holding various musical instruments. The man in the middle at the front is wearing a suit and has a shield in front of him. Under the photo is printed the name of the band and that today it is known as the Marong Municipal Band. Also the known names of the bandsmen. This bluestone store replaced a small wooden store on the cross roads site in 1858. Store owned by William Veale and his brothers Arthur and George . Originally built by Cecil Louisson. Scots Presbyterian Church, Lake Bolac. The architect was Mr George Harriot and it was built of local bluestone by stonemason Mr Helme and completed in 1878. The Rev. Mr J S Muir took the opening service. Mrs John Moffat and Mrs William Veale laid the foundation stone. It was furnished by the existing Kauri pews but the present pulpit is not the original.
