G42 hauled a long train of passenger cars to Gembrook, and tucked in behind the loco was an NQR open wagon carrying Graeme's coffin. And in what is an old British tradition, the top layer of coal in the bunker was painted white (although the resulting smoke was still fairly black!). Two photos are attached. Tram services closed the following Sunday. The 8 page feature in a single sheet of newsprint, with one half printed upside down to the other half. Includes numerous photos of the trams, one of the last staff photo, and item called "1927 and all that" with the memories of Basil Miller, Senior Traffic Inspector. 2nd copy of the feature section added 12/10/2007 ex Graeme Breydon. 1038.1- copy of the Bendigo Advertiser of April 13 1972 - 16 pages, including the supplement. From memory, these tickets were bulk printed by the Victorian Railways for the ARHS and the over stamped for use on particular days/events, meals etc. Would have been used as the tram ticket on the day. Gives a short history of the cable tramway that operated from Milsons Point ferry terminus until replaced by electric tramcars, photographs, map, and a short note on preserved cable trams.
