This is an early 20th century musical composition by a leading Tasmanian composer, Florence Hull (Mrs Arthur Kenny). It is a sentimental song as the ‘sprig of boronia’ is a withered one, kept as a relic of some past event. This music was printed in the Victorian School Paper for Grades 7 and 8 in 1918 and the proceeds of copies of one of the editions of this work were donated to the Hawthorn Red Cross in Melbourne. Florence Hull’s musical works and memoirs are in the Tasmanian Archives. Paul Dufault, who sang this song, was a leading Canadian tenor who toured Australia and Europe. He died in 1930 aged 57. This sheet music has significance as it was composed by a Tasmanian woman in the early 20th century and it represents the type of music popular in concert halls at the time. It has been in the Warrnambool and District Historical Society collection for many years. This is a four page piece of sheet music (cover plus two pages of music). The paper is cream-coloured, discoloured in places, with brown print on the back of the cover and black notation on the music pages. The front cover is in brown, yellow and green tonings, with a chromolithographic illustration of a Boronia flower spray and some music bars. The back of the cover has information on eight of Florence Hull’s other compositions with comments by critics. The Warrnambool Examiner was founded by John Wilkinson and Richard Osburne in 1851. After a gap of a couple of years Richard Osburne resumed publication in October 1853 and continued until 1867. William Fairfax and Henry Laurie then leased the paper (1867 to 1872) before Richard Osburne again became the proprietor from October 1872 to April 1878 and from December 1879 to December 1880 when publication ceased. Richard Osburne was a pioneer settler in Warrnambool arriving in 1847. He was prominent in community activities in the town and was a most important early historian, publishing his seminal work, ‘The History of Warrnambool’ in 1887, using the Warrnambool Examiner papers to assist with this history. Fairfax and Laurie were the proprietors when the papers described herein were printed. William Fairfax was a member of the Fairfax family that was, and still is, associated with the publication of many Australian newspapers. Henry Laurie later became well-known as a Melbourne University Philosophy ProfessorThese original newspapers are most important because they contain much information on Warrnambool’s early history and are a primary source for historians. These papers are also of importance because some parts of these papers were not filmed and are not currently available on microfilm. These papers were in a Warrnambool City Council storage area and it is surmised they have come from the old Warrnambool Museum which no longer exists. These are original copies of the Warrnambool Examiner newspapers from 8th January 1869 to 31st December 1869. They are broadsheet pages, two per newspaper, printed on the four pages and bound together and published twice weekly. The cover is a mottled brown and green colour and it has brown binding glued together. This is a tourist guide to Warrnambool produced by a local artist, Ella Webb, in conjunction with the Warrnambool and District Historical Society. It includes a sketch map showing the location of some points of interest – buildings and sites of historical interest, places of interest that are no longer existing, some natural features (mainly along the coast) and some information about incidents and people in the past. It is an attractive broadsheet that is a useful guide for visitors to Warrnambool. This sheet is of interest as a modern-day tourist map produced in an artistic fashion by a local Warrnambool artist.This is a single sheet of thick paper printed on both sides in green, brown, yellow and beige tonings. One side of the sheet has sketches of buildings and places of interest and printing and the other side has a sketch map of some of the main streets of Warrnambool and some of its attractions.

This medal was awarded to Dr George Rothwell Adam, who was a lecturer in Obstetrics at the University of Melbourne from 1899 to 1913. As part of receiving this award, Adam delivered a Listerian Oration entitled ' The influence Listerism exercises on obstetrics' at a meeting of the South Australian Branch of the British Medical Association on May 25, 1922. "This Oration and Medal was established by the South Australian Branch of the British Medical Association in 1914. The first Oration was delivered on Thursday, June 25th of that year. On that day, the new premises of the Branch was opened. Subsequently, this annual Oration became recognized as the most important scientific event in the calendar of branch Scientific Meetings. In 1948 it was delivered by one of South Australia’s famous sons, Sir Hugh Cairns. There has been no Lister Oration since 1979. The obverse of the Lister Medal shows a portrait of Lord Lister 1827-1912, and on the reverse is inscribed ‘British Medical Association, South Australian Branch, Lister Oration’. A vintage 1894 hardcover children's book with the title Chatterbox printed in white lettering at the top of the front cover which has a green coloured background with an illustration in a large circle showing a boy sitting on a step near a door holding a white dog on his knee. The boy is wearing a green overcoat, brown tartan cap, red cravat and a brown jacket. He has a white blanket across his left shoulder. The publisher details are printed at the bottom, with Price Three Shillings printed in black letters at the very top. Green tape covers the spine, holding the covers together. The covers are damaged and faded. The faded yellow coloured back cover has four advertisements: "Cadbury's", Symington's Pea flour and soup. Symington's Egyptian Food and 'Pears' soap.The manufacturer details are included for all. The frontispiece coloured illustration inside depicts a group of schoolboys near a red letterbox throwing snowballs at each other outside their school. A dog is watching. The title of the picture is 'A hard fought battle'. The title page has the title plus Founded by J. Erskine Clarke, M.A and publisher details with a black lined illustration of children, a woman with children at her knee reading and flowers. There are further coloured plates in the collection. M&MTB Season Greetings Card 1926 – 1927. The card consists of a heavily embossed brown cover with the MMTB logo on the front cover, with a printed sheet internally and tied together with a green ribbon. The photographs have been overlaid with a gold borders and the message has been printed in gold ink. An experienced printer estimated it would have taken some two hours to hand set the message, the press operator another two hours to get the registration correct before printing it and after printing allowed up to four days for the gold ink to dry before handling the paper again. This is certainly a work of art in terms of printing. Whether it was done by the M&MTB’s internal printing office is unknown. Of the view it would have only been sent to “select” people.
