Navy white cotton material in miniature houndstooth pattern.Small pocket LHS bodice.3 white fabric covered buttons on front of bodice.Press stud on neckline.X2 hook& eyes at waistband.x2 press studs off centre on skirt opening.Full length sleeves with 3cms cuff. Gathered at yoke,waist and sleeves.Slit pocket on RHS skirt. Re Apron 27-36.White apron made from Finleys sheeting.Yellow stain & repaired tear on skirt of apron.3 buttons on back to attach crossover straps. On waistline of apron Marjorie Hood written in black ink on back of waistline of apron. Re Apron 27-02 white Apron made from Finleys sheeting. Repaired midline tear from neck,10cms. From mid bib from waistline 11cm repaired (with modern day iron on white patch.) On Left side of apron another sown on patch repair. Minor ?ink stains on skirt. Some discolouration of skirt particularly over shoulders of apron straps on outside and underside of hemline. 3 canvas covered buttons on waistline to attach apron straps. 1905-1933.The bandage winding machine wound calico bandages for patient use. A sheet of calico was torn into strips of differing widths and a length of around 8 feet or 240 cm. The bandage was wound around the handle shaft, by hand initially, to get purchase, then the handle was turned until the bandage was tightly wound. Bandages were reused after being washed, dried and rewound on the machine.The bandage winding machine wound a bandage more tightly than could be achieved by hand, allowing more effective bandaging. An open wooden frame with six horizontal wooden struts. At the top of the frame is a metal shaft with a bakelite handle which winds and holds the bandage. The frame is on a wooden stand. Tradition commenced in December 1969 by Von Clinch, charge sister of Ward 3 at the time. Who placed a dummy dressed as Santa Claus at the entrance to ward three. Through one hole is inserted a long hollow glass tube, through the other hole is inserted a plastic y connector. On one arm of y connector is a short length of orange rubber tubbing, to the other end of this tubing is another larger y connection, with another short length of orange rubber tubing, with a metal clamp attached to bottom. The test-tube is attached to a varnished wooden board by two metal brackets. At the base of the test tube is a small wooden shelf for protection. On this backboard is a marked gradient of 60 cms. Murray Comrie Collection. The Memorial was first unveiled at a Thanksgiving Service in 1918. It now commemorates Tarnagulla residents who served in WWI and WWII. This stone monument was created and erected by Mr. Barber of Dunolly in October 1919. It was unveiled by Brigadier General Brand C.B. C.M.G. D.S.O. at 2:30pm on Saturday November 8th, 1919. The Welcome Home Committee, formed 2nd July 1917, was largely responsible for commissioning the monument. Foundation members were Mrs. B. Patterson, Mrs J. Bock and the Misses P. Lemin, Violet Radnell, D. Dyer and Doris and Phoebe Bock. The Committee also arranged 'Welcome Home' functions for each local soldier returning home after service in the First World War. Tarnagulla had a very large number of enlistments for its population. Angus M. Comrie is standing to the right of the Memorial with his daughter Mavis Comrie, and Nell Alexander. Mavis Comrie presented a new Union Jack flag to the Tarnagulla School on 25th July 1919 to commemorate Peace. Peace Medals were also distributed to the school students.
