Melbourne Hospital took part in a Joint Walk event. According ...On the 26th of March, (circa 1989), various staff from the Royal Melbourne Hospital took part in a Joint Walk event. According to Leonie Oldmeadow, Senior Clinician Musculoskeletal Therapist at the hospital, many of the participants were from the Environmental Services department of the hospital. The event included a 5-minute warm-up, a 20-minute walk, and a 5-minute cool-down (pictured). Many of the participants were keen to continue to do a "Joint Walk" on a regular basis.COL photo of a group of people demonstrating some exercises to a group of nurses. This enabled people to go as far as they wished at their own pace and join together for morning tea (B.Y.O.) and a Fun Quiz. Ten of our group were joined by our friends. It was most enjoyable. There was a Joint Walk along Southgate, beside the Yarra River in Melbourne - one of around 24 Joint Walks held across Victoria during the 1996 NAW. In addition, there was a "Making Life Easier" expo held on the day. In this photo, the Glen Iris Handbell Ringers perform in the forecourt of a building outside the "Making Life Easier" expo.
