Schmidt’s Strawberry Farm is set on acres of lush strawberry fields in Allans Flat, approximately 5 kilometres from Yackandandah and 24 kilometres from Wodonga. The Geelong Handweavers and Spinners Guild Inc. entered "The Afternoon Tea Party" , designed by Val Ingeme, into the "Five Articles" Section of the Melbourne Sheep and Woolcraft Show c.1992. To qualify, the entry needed to be from a group of five people and be able to demonstrate a number of wool crafts in at least five different items. "The Afternoon Tea Party" was loaned to the NWM for display and was subsequently donated in 2003. The house situated on CAI - 2 Rhyll was called Mot Pena. Probably built by William Richardson c1900 for John Squire (Jack) Underdown. This house is still standing and was recently carefully restored. The photograph was taken on the 20th of June 2004 at Bob Dunnett’s place in Wooragee. Bob Dunnett is more popularly known in Beechworth as the owner of Beechworth Berries who oversees around 30,000 strawberry plants on his farm in Wooragee. He comes from a long line of fruit growers, as the son of an orchardist, who was the son of a fruit grower. Bob Dunnett provides strawberries to his fellow townspeople opting to sell his fruit at local markets. National Tree Day is Australia’s largest tree-planting and nature care event as trees, shrubs and grasses are very important in Indigo Shire. The event started in 1996 and since then more than 3.8 million people have planted 24 million trees and plants. The author of this book, Wendy Scarfe, is a writer who lives in Warrnambool. She graduated from Melbourne University and Melbourne Teachers’ College and has taught in England, India and Australia (including Warrnambool High School). She has published 22 books with a number of these written jointly with her late husband, Allan. This novel is a sequel to the novel, ‘Fishing For Strawberries’ which is set in a coastal town similar to Warrnambool. This book is retained as an example of the writings of Wendy Scarfe, a noted author who lives in Warrnambool.This is a soft-cover book of 256 pages. A description in the newspaper near the illustration (page 210) reads as follows: "Eltham is a pretty little township on the Yarra Flats road, about 14 miles east north east of Melbourne, from which place there is communication by way of Heidelberg. It has a population of nearly 400 inhabitants, but in addition it is the centre of a large district extending over about 203 square miles, having a population of 2344. The land in the district is mostly used for grazing purposes, although as a rule the small farms grow a good deal of wheat, oats and other agricultural produce. A large quantity of fruit, especially raspberries and strawberries, is also produced, the rich alluvial flats along the creek upon which the township is situated being very well adapted for that purpose. Gold has also been found in the vicinity of the township, but not in remunerative quantities".
