Bought by donor's husband at a Uniting Church sale 10-15 years ago.

Physical description

Sampler with alphabet, verse, spots of baskets of fruit, etc. and strawberry border. Soft colours, probably faded with dark green and blue. Cross stitch embroidery.

Inscriptions & markings

"For ever here my rest shall be
Close to thy bleeding side
Tis all my hope and all my plea
For me the Saviour died
My dying Saviour and my God
Fountain for guilt and sin
Sprinkle me ever with thy blood
And cleanse and keep me clean"
