Colour postcard divided back, serrated edges - Biscay Greetings, series of featuring W2 601, passing under the 150th Victorian Anniversary arch on Princes Bridge during 1984 or 1985. Has the Arts Centre in the background. Tram has the destination of Glen Iris, Route 6. Back has space for name and address, stamp and a message and details of the postcard. The five arch bridge spans Blind Creek in Sunbury. The Jacksons Creek is prone to flooding when rainfall is very heavy. The phtograph was taken by Alfred Sinel who was the local photgrapher in Sunbury. The four arched bridge spans the river at Deep Creek, Bulla. The bridge replaced the forde crossing which is in the foreground of the photograph. The two-arched bluestone bridge which spans the Jacksons Creek at the east end of Sunbury township, was built in 1857 and continued to be used as a road bridge on the main Sunbury Road-Macedon Street until the early 1970s when a wider bridge replaced the original bluestone bridge.A black and white photograph of a two- arched bluestone bridge which spans a dry creek bed. This is a photograph of the bridge in the Bulla township which spans the Deep Creek, a tributary of the Maribyrnong River. It has been constructed from bluestone which is found across the volcanic western plains in Victoria. Kaolin was quarried from the cliff face in the background and was used in the making of bricks and pottery products manufactured at Northcote and Brunswick potteries.This is one of the many notable bluestone bridges which were built in the district in the nineteenth century.A black and white photograph of a valley with a five arched bridge spanning a river. The five span masonry arch bridge over Blind Creek was one of the major constructions on the Melbourne to Echuca Railway. It was one of the first masonry rail bridges built in Victoria.
