Brothers Stathi and Naki Raftopoulos arrived in Australia as young boys in 1934. They first settled in Merbein but eventually moved permanently to Melbourne. The Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's Telephone Information Service (TIS) was staffed by volunteers, and provided information and referral services to members. In this photo, volunteer members, Glenda Schulman and Noel Smith, take calls in the TIS room at the AFV's headquarters in Elsternwick. On the 10th of October, 2002, Arthritis Victoria (AV) held a Community Seminar and a Health Professionals Seminar in Orbost (East Gippsland) as part of its Rural and Regional Education (RARE) Program. Both seminars were presented by Nurse Denise Philpott. On the following day, the 11th of October, Nurse Philpott presented a donation of books from Arthritis Victoria to the Orbost Library.
