After a quiet period, interest in bookplates in Australia began to increase in the early 1970s, Entrepreneurial art and book collectors such as Edwin Jewell and others commissioned multiple Bookplate designs from a range of well known fine artists. At a 1997 meeting in Melbourne of the Ephemera Society of Australia Edwin Jewell and others announced the formation of the Australian Bookplate Society. The Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's Telephone Information Service (TIS) was staffed by volunteers, and provided information and referral services to members. In this photo, volunteer members, Glenda Schulman and Noel Smith, take calls in the TIS room at the AFV's headquarters in Elsternwick. This photo appears as part of a photo collage on the rear cover of the 1998 Annual Report. On the 10th of October, 2002, Arthritis Victoria (AV) held a Community Seminar and a Health Professionals Seminar in Orbost (East Gippsland) as part of its Rural and Regional Education (RARE) Program. Both seminars were presented by Nurse Denise Philpott. On the following day, the 11th of October, Nurse Philpott presented a donation of books from Arthritis Victoria to the Orbost Library.
