The Peninsula Princess is a single ended roll-on/roll-off vehicle ferry owned by Peninsula Searoad Transport of Victoria, Australia. It operated between the heads of Port Phillip Bay between the towns of Queenscliff and Sorrento from 1987 to 1993. It was replaced by the MV Queenscliff. Prior to 1939 access to the Island was by punt from San Remo or car ferry from Stony Point. A bridge was opened in 1940 but increased traffic and low load capacity was a problem. The decision to build a new bridge was made in the 1960s.HistoricalColoured, bound booklet with a photo of the old and new Phillip Island bridges on the cover and the CRB logo and name on rear. It includes the order of proceedings for the opening and bridge statistics, plans and contractor information. The theatre, set up in the old shire hall, was run by Bill Schooling and Connie Maugham. A World War 1 veteran, Charlie Croft, was the doorman. The films came down by ferry for Saturday nights, or Bill Schooling collected them in his car, which ran on kerosene. In the summertime, there were also screenings on Wednesdays and Fridays. Screenings started with a newsreel; then a travelogue was shown; another support film would be fitted in before interval, then another newsreel, a cartoon, and finally the feature film hit the screen. Wal Jack had an extensive range of correspondents throughout Australia and the world who often provided him with detailed drawings and notes on various tramway systems. This set of notes on the Auckland tramway system, both the main city, Auckland Tramway Board and the north shore - Takapuna Tramway and Ferry Co shows the various routes, locations and terminals. The hand written sheets provide opening dates of the various routes and gives the total miles and number of cars as at 31-3-1945. Yields information about the North Sydney Cable tramway that operated from 1886 to 1900.Twelve page booklet, yellow paper covers, centre stapled, folded A4 sheets to give an A5 book, white inside pages, titled "the North Sydney Cable Tramway 1886 - 1900". Gives a short history of the cable tramway that operated from Milsons Point ferry terminus until replaced by electric tramcars, photographs, map, and a short note on preserved cable trams. Does not note the re-use of some of the trailers for construction of the Ballarat electric cars in 1905. Published by the Sydney Tramway Museum, 5/1986. On the top right hand corner of the front cover is a yellow prince label - $0.5 and on top right hand corner of page 3, a printed label "Graeme S.
