A badly worn brown and blue marbled style coloured covered Nature Study Exercise book for student use in schools. There is a white rectangular sticker with a decorative green and brown border pasted in the middle of the front cover with the title, and a Name and Class line with the student's details added in ink and pencil. It is stapled at the spine with green tape binding it together. The book is filled with different Nature Study topics such as Roots,The Vine Moth, The Violet and others, all handwritten in grey pencil. The first page is filled with pencilled columns of numbers counting by fives 5 - 690. It was used in 1912 by Louis Kolling Class 3.non-fictionA 1912-era exercise book would likely feature hand-drawn sketches of plants or insects, pressed flowers, and handwritten observations made by a student. The photograph shows Z-class trams 3 and 5 being fitted out or constructed at Preston Workshops, 1975. Z3 has been fitted with a trolley pole and other equipment, while Z5 is on stands. There are a number of people looking at Z5, which indicates a possible workshop tour. The tours database does not give a formal enthusiast tour of Preston in 1975. Charles Henry Fulford was a Wonga Park orchardist. He was the first child born in the Eight Hour Pioneer Settlement at Wonga Park. He was born 4/8/1896 and married 11/2/1922 Violet May Hooper at St Mark's Church of England Wonga Park (being the first wedding held at that new church building) He lived initially in Paynters Road with his parents and later in Fulford Road. He had two sons and six daughters - Dorothy Isabel born 11/12/1893, Violet May born 19/5/1928, David Walter born 24/9/1926, Madge born 7/8/1928, James Henry born 17/6/1930, Betty born 4/12/1934, Ethel Beatrice born 19/5/1939 and June born 29/1/1943White coloured card with Red printing

Stephen Charman, 1821-1906 a market gardener, donated land for the first Methodist Chapel, Cemetery and School in Charman Rd Cheltenham 1855. The enrolment was 36 pupils with Mr Frederick Meeres as Teacher. 1863 the school is called Beaumaris Common School No 84 with 70 pupils and Walter Meeres as Teacher. 1869 another 2 acres in Charman Road were granted by the Education Board and brick building built . 1872 State School 84 Beaumaris was increasing enrolments and 1878 a new brick school was built to accommodate 174 pupils and the name changed to Cheltenham State School No.84 1894 Mentone State School No.2950 amalgamated with Cheltenham SS No.84. 1910 the buildings were in disrepair, overcrowding was increasing and renovations were made 1912 with further additions in 1925 and 1937. Post WW11 extra prefabricated Classrooms were added as enrolment increased to 1038 in 1955.. Cheltenham East State School 4754 was opened as housing development spread over the City of Moorabbin . (J.Larson Sandringham HS) 1855 Stephen Charman donated land to the Methodist Church so that a School could be established to educate the children of the early settler market gardeners and farmers in the Cheltenham area . Education was valued by the general community and as well as schools they established mechanics Institutes and Libraries in Moorabbin Shire.
