The transparency was taken by Olive Hamilton who was a prominent local figure during the 1940s and 1950s. Olive was also president of the Victorian Amateur Cine Society Ladies Auxiliary. The Emerald Country Club Emerald Country Club and Golf Course was originally part of the Nobelius Nursery complex. When Nobelius died in 1921 the nursery was sold, and part of the grounds developed as the Emerald Country Club (20's). The Emerald Country Club buildings and Golf Course still exist but are currently not functional. Gwen Jones worked at the Emerald Country Club and lived in accommodation at the club while she worked there. She married Alan Howard from Monbulk.Silver plated sandwich tray; rectangular with handle on each end. Decoration around the perimeter and on each handle. The Emerald Country Club was established in the 1920s on part of the land originally owned by Carl Axel Nobelius who operated the Gembrook Nurseries from 1886. After Carl died in 1921 the nursery was sold to a syndicate who developed part of the property as the Emerald Country Club. The land was developed into a Country Club with a golf course, tennis courts and swimming pool and a housing estate. The Emerald Country Club house was completed in 1929. When the Club first started the membership was limited to those who purchased land in the surrounding estate.Silver plated jam spoon was owned by Gwen Jones who was employed at the Emerald Country Club during the 1940s. It is an example of tableware treasured and used during that period.Silver plated jam spoon. Engraved around the bowl of the spoon and along the handle.
