Syer m.s.i ...The inaugural meeting of the Ballarat Mathematical Association was held at St Patrick's College on 12 July 1967, in the presence of visitors Solway Love and the Australian Broadcasting Commission. The Ballarat organisation was a newly formed branch of the Mathematical Association of Victoria. The first committee of the Ballarat Branch were Miss I.H. Moore, (President) D. Scoltock (secretary), Brother Stanley, J.W. Netherway, D. Bremner, Sister Agnes (St Martin's in the Pines), Miss I. Tabaco (Ballarat High School) and Mother Michelle. The second meeting was held on 03 September 1967 and included a talk by Clive Keating, Inspector of Schools and President of the Mathematical Association of Victoria. The next guest speaker was Mr McLaren who spoke on Patterns in Mathematics forms I to IV.A harcovered ledger with leather spine containing minutes of the Ballarat Mathematical Association. Many of the attendees were nuns and brothers. The first meeting includes notes on a talk by I.H. He was born in Kapunda, S A in 1858; was a teacher and died in Bright in 1941. She was born in Ararat in 1860 and died in Surrey Hills in 1926. Their 4 sons were: 1. Rupert Chisholm (b1892; d 1953; m Ethel Cross in 1916) - occupation: public servant (became assistant taxation commissioner) 2. Clarence William Willoughby (b 1895; d 1980; m Jessie Mona Stuart Grant in 1924) - occupation: solicitor. 3. Basil Thomas Ross (b 1900; d 1983; m Isabella Rodger in 1934) - occupation: clerk / salesman 4. Ian Bruce (b 1904; d 1983; m Doery Annie Breen in 1935) - occupation: dentist. The family lived in View Street, Mont Albert. Clarence served in WW1 (SERN 36844) The family had strong associations over successive generations with Surrey Hills and the Methodist Church. Blue duplicate pages and white originals. Last pages have This book is cancelled S? written across it. Back cover is missing. Two loose pages in the book. One is a duplicate For All Bull Cattle Colour, dated 3/2/92 for silver and yellow branding fluid. The other is a V/Line Freight Consignment Note dated 5/2/92. Purchase Requisition book with a red and cream patterned book with a red tape spine and blue pages. Saleyards is written in balck texta on the front of the red spine. Book is dated from 24/8/90 to 8/1/92. Requisitions signed by J M Crimmins and J Richmond. Presented to members of Assault Pioneer Platoon, Support Company which used to be located at this depotThis plaque gives insight into one of the support tasks that used to be conducted by SPT Coy prior to it morphing into D CoyLarge varnished timber board with chromed axe mounted diagonally across the center. There is a large brass plaque and two smaller ones affixed in the top left corner. a piece of paper has been folded and held in behind the axe.
