The trolley pole is set for this trip and several passengers are seated inside. On the roadway adjacent to the open front door stand a uniformed driver and conductress in conversation. As the short Footscray routes were usually driver-only operations and the Footscray Station stop was the busiest, the conductress is likely stationed here to collect fares before each tram's arrival and departure. In the background are a fish and chip shop displaying an advertisement for Savoy Peanuts on its double storey facade and a radio and television sales shop. Photograph shows X2 class tram 677 parallel to an unknown W2 class tram in Glen Huntly Rd, Elsternwick near Elsternwick Stn. 677 has its single trolley pole set ready to be driven over a crossover and probably onto Point Ormond terminus. Perhaps it is waiting for the City bound W2 to pass. 677's east facing destination blind still reads Elsternwick Rly Stn as it was M&MTB practice on short shuttle services such as this to only show the correct destination on the front of the tram. One of a pair of posed photographs of Car 7 in Corio Tce. prior to opening day. The tramline curves to the right into the depot whose entrance lies between Blakiston & Co on the right and the MESCo's offices on the corner of Yarra St., to the left. Note its ornamental turret, removed in the 20s. The carefully arranged poseurs are employees of the Company, recognisable from the other photographs. The second photograph (Item No. 8617 - large print on wall in board room) shows the opposite end of the tram with the Geelong Club and Mac's Hotel in the background. Geelong blind starts with Kardinia Park going to the City, Eastern Park, Shannon Street, Belmont, Chilwell, Garden and Humble Streets, City, Newtown, Station, South Beach, Depot. This is one of the routes that provided tram travel for people in Geelong. The Maribyrnong blind shown was on the tram route that stopped at Explosives Factory, Ordnance Factory, Ammunition Factory and Pyrotechnic Factory. These trams carried local people and workers at the different factories. The last item listed SPECIAL.E was not to carry general passengers - workers only. Set of destination indicator equipment that was fitted to Z3 and A class trams. Each item consists of various electronic parts contained within a metal case that could have been cabled together. Equipment manufactured by (Carl) C. Brose of Wuppertal Germany and maintained by Font Electronics of Melbourne - some items have the manufacturers details on them along with the details of the maintenance company and serial numbers etc. Photo .1 - shows the set of equipment as placed on display in the training room. .1 - set of two route number boxes, three individual controlled blinds, driven by a motor and control gear.
