Baskerville’s Echo references the Ancient Greek myth of the nymph Echo. The goddess Hear punished Echo for misusing her gift of voice by ensuring that she could only echo the voice of others. Echo falls in love with Narcissus, who spurns her and instead falls in love with his own reflection in a pool and drowns trying to reach it. The "Echo" was a small newspaper issued by the 2/22nd Infantry Training Battalion based at the racecourse camp at Epsom, Bendigo. Purpose of camp was to train new recruits and feed them into the Infantry Battalion itself. Anne Frank was one of a group of eight Jews in hiding from the Nazis. After their betrayal and transportation only her father Otto Frank survived. Her diary was saved by one of the helpers who brought them food and news during the 2 years in hiding. The diary bears witness to Anne's budding talent as a writer.
