These photographs, taken by The Advocate in 2000, feature participants and displays at the Sunshine Garden Show. The annual event celebrated the district's strong gardening tradition, showcasing flowers, plants, vegetables, floral arrangements and horticultural achievements from across the local community. The show provided an opportunity for residents, gardening enthusiasts and community groups to exhibit their work, exchange knowledge and continue a tradition that had been part of Sunshine's social and cultural life for many decades.7750.01 - Sunshine Garden Show 2000 Photographs (Advocate 150).JPG 7750.02 - Sunshine Garden Show 2000 Photographs (Advocate 150).JPG 7750.03 - Sunshine Garden Show 2000 Photographs (Advocate 150).JPG 7750.04 - Sunshine Garden Show 2000 Photographs (Advocate 150).JPG 7750.05 - Sunshine Garden Show 2000 Photographs (Advocate 150).JPG

The Emerald Garden Club operated from 1960 to 2025 with monthly meetings throughout the year and annual garden shows in August. The last garden show was in 2008 although monthly meetings with competitions, biannual plant sales, and working bees continued. The Club was forced to close in 2025 due to an ageing membership. This is a collection of photographs taken at their Winter Show, held at the Emerald Hall on 29 Aug-31 Aug 2008.
