Historical information

The Emerald Garden Club operated from 1960 to 2025 with monthly meetings throughout the year and annual garden shows in August. The last garden show was in 2008 although monthly meetings with competitions, biannual plant sales, and working bees continued. The Club was forced to close in 2025 due to an ageing membership. This is a collection of photographs taken at their Winter Show, held at the Emerald Hall on 29 Aug-31 Aug 2008. It was donated to the Museum on the closure of the Club.

Significance

This is a photographic record of some of the flowers, herbs and produce that was being grown at Emerald in August 2008.
