The Guiding Light structure was installed at AFB's Brighton office due to the efforts of President Bruce Small. Brief history of the Guiding Light Square Dancing club, which began in April 1974 by Colin and Margaret Fox. Practice sessions were originally held in the Fox house but were soon moved to Kooyong and continued for 21 years. Social activities, such as pie nights, picnics and outings together, were held in between demonstrations, practice sessions and trips to other square dance clubs. This uniform was worn by Sandra "Sally" Allmand circa 1953-57 as a member of the 3rd St Andrews Girl Guides company in Brighton. Sally Allmand went on to serve on the Brighton Council from 1977 to 1983 and was mayor in 1981.1950s Girl Guides uniform consisting of a dress, belt and beret. Blue cotton dress with long sleeves and high collared neck. Various patches sewn onto sleeves and front breast. Three front pockets fastening with black plastic buttons featuring Girl Guides trefoil logo. Breast pocket has two vertical white stripes. The Merle Bush Trefoil Guild was registered in Bendigo on 18/06/1981.The decision to disband the Merle Bush Trefoil Guild was made at a General Meeting on 17/02/2016. The group agreed to continue as the Merle Bush Friendship Group. The Australian Trefoil Guilds connect women who are either actively involved in Girl Guiding or have a history with Girl Guiding.
