This book by Jack Gorman contains articles on horse racing in Australia, and in particular, Victoria and the Western District in the 19th and 20th centuries. It includes articles on the 1891 Melbourne Cup, the Casterton Centenary Cup of 1961, the champion horse ‘Waranton’, hunting in the Casterton district, the 1922 Grand Annual Steeplechase at Warrnambool and many people associated with horse racing in the past. This book is retained as it contains articles on various horse races and people associated with horse racing of the past in the Western District of Victoria, including accounts of Warrnambool races. It will be a useful addition to our local history library. This is a soft cover book of 52 pages. The cover has brown and white colouring and has an image of the finish of a horse race and black printing. The pages contain printed material, black and white photographs and sketches. On Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th of May, 1978, an art and craft exhibition was held as a fundraising event in support of the Rheumatism and Arthritis Association of Victoria (RAAV). Titled, "Living with Arthritis - Aids to Daily Living", the exhibition was held at St Andrew's Parish Hall in Brighton. A second "Living with Arthritis" exhibition was held two months later in Footscray. Henceforth, the respective events were commonly referred to as "the Brighton exhibition" and "the Footscray exhibition". A fashion parade and panel discussion were also held as part of the two-day event. On the Saturday, the fashion parade was hosted by special guest MC, Australian actor, Reg Gorman. Reg co-compered the fashion parade with RAAV member, Joan Watson. In this photo, Reg Gorman, Ina Roberts, and RAAV Vice President, Elva Renfrew, pose for a photo during the event. Some writing on the rear identifies the subject. 2/A typewritten letter, (1 page) dated 1946 (no date more specific than that specified), from the Chairman & Honorary Treasurer of the Caulfield Central RSL Appeal Committee (name unspecified) to the Mayor of Caulfield (name also unspecified), imploring the latter for a donation of $20,000 dollars for purposes of constructing a Memorial Hall to eulogize servicemen killed during WWII. Some rough working notes on rear side. 3/A flyer, undated (although presumably published in 1950), printed by Peter Isaacson Pty. Ltd., advertising a concert presented by the Ugly Ugly Man (Frank M.
