i-iv; 167 P.; index; bib.; footnotes; 21 cm.The central thesis of this book is that the major failing of native title, as communal, inalienable and partial title, is that is does not represent a sound instrument for significantly improving the conditions and prospects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. The costs involved to the Australian community are not balanced by commensurate benefits to indigenous Australians.land tenure -- law and legislation -- australia. | aboriginal australians -- land tenure. | torres strait islanders -- land tenure. | aboriginal australians -- social conditions. | aboriginal australians -- economic conditions. | torres strait islanders -- social conditions. | torres strait islanders -- economic conditions.
