Orbost Town Band amalgamated in 1913 to form the Orbost Municipal Band under the conductorship of Mr Charles Spink. The Orbost Municipal Orbost Band played a major role in the Orbost community activities. Charles Spink made sure each soldier returning home from the 1914 to 1918 war was welcomed home in front of the Shire Hall to the music of the Orbost Municipal Band. The band played in the main street on most Friday nights. The various Orbost bands over the years played a major role in community activities providing entertainment and musical experiences for the many members.Five correspondence books with carbon pages. They contain outward correspondence related to the Orbost Municipal Band. 803.1 is dated March 1962 - May 1965. 803.2 is dated September 1972 - May 1974. 803.3 is dated February 1973 - July 1975. 803.4 is dated august 1975 - March 1977. 803.5 is dated March 1977 - 79. The inaugural service of the Eaglehawk Methodist Church, 6 Feb 1977. In September 1863 the foundation stone of the Eaglehawk Wesleyan Church was laid. The building was enlarged and completed in 1869. In March 1865 the Eaglehawk Primitive Methodist Church was opened. These two churches later known as the West and East Methodist Churches served Eaglehawk until December 31st 1976. On that day both churches ceased to exist, and on Sunday 2nd January 1977 the first service of a new church was held. Although using the property and buildings of the former West Methodist, the new church is now called the Eaglehawk Methodist Church. This church will have a short history, as it too will cease to exist in mid 1977 when it will close its' doors to reopen as the Uniting Church of Australia, a church formed from the present Methodist and Presbyterian Churches. The Inaugural Service of the new church was held on Sunday 6th February 1977. Enclosed is the order of service. Appropriately enough all hymns were of the pen of Charles Wesley with the exception of 784 which is a German hymn translated buy the founder of Methodism John Wesley.

In 1955 Regimental Headquarters moved to Wangaratta and a second squadron was located at Albury. The Sale squadron transferred to 4th/19th Prince of Wales’s Light Horse. Early examples of Melbourne Legacy Club newsletters, covering the activities of Melbourne Legacy Widows' Club. Information includes a notice from the Chairman of the Widows' Committee, dates of meetings, possible day trips and theatre outings, and cruises. The ladies were welcome to attend card afternoons, indoor bowls competitions, outings and tours. The newsletters are published five times a year (January, May, July, September, November). These editions are from 1978, 1979 and 1980. The November 1977 edition mentions it was the 106th edition, the first edition was in 1960, previously there had been a quarterly magazine but the distribution was limited, they changed to a 4 page newsletter format to reach more of the widows. The September 1979 edition includes a photo of Lord Mountbatten when he met Legacy children, in reference to his death. The March 1980 edition mentions that the Widows Club rooms had been refurbished and the key handed over to the Widows Club President Mrs Ina Kearney - it was a momentous event since there was a membership of over 13,000 widows. A photo of this event is at 00410. The newsletter was priced at 2c a copy. The price of theatre tickets were $3. The full copy of January 1976 has been added to show the usual layout.
