Unidentified group of WW1 Australian Army Australian Rules footballers. The team was based at the No1 Command Depot at Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, UK. The officer seated is Lieutenant Colonel William Owen ('Old Bill') Mansbridge who was OC of No1 Command Depot. Compare this photograph to one of the depot's Soccer Football team taken on the same day and in the same location, which is held in the Australian War Memorial's photographic collection (AWM A 03388) The photographs were both taken by photographer Graystone Bird, whose studio was in Bath, U.K. Sepia toned photograph of a team of 1st AIF Australian Rules foorballers in three rows.
