In the 1850's and 60's many Italian speaking Swiss migrated to the central Victorian region, particularly around the Daylesford/Hepburn/Yandoit area. They were mostly from the Cantons of Ticino and Sth Graibunden on the Swiss/Italian border. The author Clare Gervasoni is a descendant of the wine making Gervasoni family of Yandoit.238-page book. Dr Guscetti was born in Quinto, Switzerland on 24 June 1816. He died on 24 April 1871. Giovanni Brusaschi was born in 1827 in Lombardy, Italy. He arrived in Victoria seeking gold in the 1850s. He was a pioneer viticulturist and a leading citizen of the Clunes district. Marrying Alice Mary O'Sullivan who was born in County Kerry, Ireland, she arrived in Australia in 1863. Settling at Dunach, about 10 km from Clunes, they had a vineyard, made wine, and kept pigs, sheep and cows.
