The Fashion & Design collection of Kew Historical Society includes examples of textiles dating from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Some of the textiles, were used as items of clothing, others as items of household decoration, or simply as travel souvenirs. These textiles were created both domestically and internationally. Predictably with the growth of an ethnically and culturally more diverse community in Kew after the Second World War, textiles, clothing and objects in the collection inevitably reflected this diversity. ACME Field Days are an expo event where exhibitors, particularly from the agricultural sector, can display and promote their products. In the early 2000s, Arthritis Victoria (AV) brought its Healthy Bones Bus to south west Victoria to spread the 'strong bones, healthy joints' message to regional areas. This initiative was made possible through a partnership with the Moyne Shire Council and Moyne Health Services. This item could have been used by a woman who had reasonably good hand stitching and patchwork skills. The time period would be before the 1950's as post 1950s this item would have been commercially available from any medium populated towns Historically this particular item would have been one before circa 1950s, when haberdashery shops would not have been so readily accessible for those families living in the Kiewa Valley. The protection of side boards indicates that furniture at that time was required to look good and last longer. On the 27th of May, 1994, the foundation plaque of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's new headquarters was unveiled. Named the Percy Baxter Arthritis Centre, the official unveilling was conducted by the Premier of Victoria, the Honourable Jeff Kennett (1948-). Located at 263-265 Kooyong Rd, Elsternwick, the construction of the new building was nearing completion. On Monday, the 5th of May 1986, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (AFV) held a special fundraising dinner and auction during National Arthritis Week. The Celebrities Dinner was held to fund the foundation's strategic plan for the next three years. On Tuesday the 19th of March 2002, a small group of people of varying ages took part in assessing the level of difficulty of some walks at Jells Park in Wheeler's Hill. Their assessments would inform the development of a guide of graded walks as part of the Healthy Parks, Healthy People program. Guided by two Parks Victoria rangers, the group tried out a few walking paths consisting of varying levels of difficulty. Aterwards, they enjoyed a light lunch.
