American Style Ladder, built by the American LaFrance Company, of Elmira, New York, as Lend Lease Appliances, during World War 11

The genesis of the vehicle is the City Service JO Series Ladder, which in this form became the JOX, - X for Export, model, as some items of equipment were not requested in the U.S. Treasury Department specification for these vehicles.

Seven of them came to Australia in 1942 / 43, and all bar two are still in existence / preservation, in various States.

Initially, they were supplied to the MFB, and later transferred to the CFBB / CFA.
