Councilor J.C.Walton was elected to council in 1940 until 1955. He served two terms as Shire President, 1945 - 46 and 1951 - 52.This photo, which is part of a collection of photos, was taken to commemorate the 1954 visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11, and was presented by the Shire President, G.A.Fraser, to mark the occaision.
