Historical information

No 85, Trooper Jack Cox served for four years in the 4th Australian Light Horse Regiment during World War 1, He was in most of their campaigns in Gallipoli and Palestine. He was awarded a DCM for his actions at the charge at Beersheba in capturing a Turkish machine gun and its 11 man crew.
