Ammunition Box, 1944

Box is marked "W.C.C.U" - perhaps Wesley College Cadet Unit. In earlier times, school cadet units were allowed to learn safe handling of weapons including the Vickers machine gun. This object probably held belted ammunition.

Sheet metal ammunition box, probably for .303 inch belted ammunition. Double hinged lid, Leather handles. Painted green

Inscriptions & markings

Manufacturer's stamp at each end.:
" R P L" over "S" over "1944"
On one end in white paint "2"
On top in white paint : "W.C.C.U" - and "2"
