It would take a woman hours to hook all of the buttons on her gloves.Glove hooks were the solution to this.They came in all shapes and sizes.Some could be carried around in a purse and used whenever it was necessary.
These hooks made dressing easier and faster for decades, before they started to go out of use after World War I.



Significance

The glove hook is an example of a gadget designed to make life simpler and to highlight the sophistication and refinement of the owner. It was a common accessory for women until the late 1920's.
