The Ballarat School of Mines Botanical Garden was established in 1879, and was used by students of botany and materia medica.

In February 1881 George Porter Day was appointed gardener at a rate of 17 pounds and ten shillings per annum.

Physical description

Yellow covered stapled report of 20 pages. Includes information about the establishment of the Ballarat School of Mines, plans of ground and buildings (1880, 1881, 1903 and 1988), Botany subjects, history of the garden, the garden in 1988.
