Historical information
The register documents twenty-one weddings that took place in the Mission to Seamen's church district between the 22nd of June, 1945 to the 1st of December 1962. Each certificate is a record of all the information needed to legalise a marriage under Commonwealth law, such as names, dates of birth, marital status, parents and employment. Within the register, there are two letters confirming that grooms are bachelors, and one Statutory Declaration signed by a bride, declaring she is a spinster.
