Historical information
Wannon Falls were created by lava flows that surged upstream to the Wannon River. The cascade is a 30 metre vertical drop into a deep plunge pool. Downstream rapids wind their way around large blocks of basalt.
The Wannon Falls have been painted by notable artists such as Nicholas Chevalier, Eugene von Guerard, Thomas Clark and Louis Buvelot.
