This photograph shows a Willaura which no longer exists. The weighbridge was part of a transportation system that included horses, wagons, silos, and trains. When this photograph was taken by the unknown photographer, the weighbridge was crowded with people and wagons. It is a part of the tradition of combining (often personal) photographs with the postcard format.
Langi Morgala Museum does not have many photographs of nearby Willaura, so this could be one of a few early photographs of the town not in private hands. This postcard, unlike many of its genre, has not been posted and does not contain a personal communication.
Sepia photograph of the Willaura Weighbridge, ca late19C. The photograph is in poor condition, but some important details can be ascertained.
