Historical information

The entire passbook is written in Swedish. It was used between the 30th of April 1946 and the 20th of November, 1946 and seems to record Allan Quinn's wages. Allan visited Sweden many times, and eventually learnt the language.

Significance

This passbook belonged to Allan Charles Quinn and is part of a collection of letters and photograph depicting aspects of life at sea for a young man in the era immediately following World War II.

A small blue book containing six pages, held together with two staples in the spine.

Front: MOTBOK / FOR (printed) / (indecipherable) QUINN (handwritten) / GOTENBORG / ALBERTS BOKTRYCKERI / 1916 (printed).
Diagonally across the cover ANVAND DRAGSEDEL is printed in red.
In the top right hand corner is a paragrapg of writing in Swedish.
